Samyang 7.5mm F3.5 fisheye is a sharp full frame (180 degree diagonal angle of view) fisheye, originally made for Micro Four Thirds (M43) system. It requires 5-6 shots around plus top and bottom shots to complete a spherical panorama. It is found that when adapted to a camera with APS-C (larger) sensor, it will give a 180 degree coverage along the width of image sensor with high sensor area utilization and high image quality. Only 4 shots around are necessary to complete a spherical panorama. It is very small and light-weight. Together with a matching pano head such as Nodal Ninja R1 and R10, it is the ideal portable set up for making quick single row spherical panorama. Due to small differences in flange distances between M43 and target cameras, a good adapter is not possible. Besides, the original lens hood will also need to be "shaved" to remove blockage of the lens angle of view. Therefore Nodal Ninja offers an easy to use complete conversion tool kit.

 

Incompatible models Sony E-Mount: Note that this conversion kit is not compatible with DSLR styled Sony E-mount cameras such as A3000 / A3500. The protruded flash and viewfinder housing interferes with the fixed lens plate and prevents lens from mounting on camera. 

Current Fujifilm X-series camera bodies are very tall at the left side of lens. They prevent the lens plate to be properly set to the no-parallax point on Nodal Ninja R1 and R10 beyond 5 degree tilt. A shorter QR clamp (QRC-30 - item code F2010) has been made to solve this issue for R10. During purchase of a new R10, customers can ask for swap of the stock R10 QRC-35 with QRC-30. For R1, it is limited up to 5 deg tilt which is enough to give good overlap at the zenith. The issue is not present for tilt of 5 degrees and smaller. It is reported that the Fujifilm X-T1 is not compatible with R1 at 5 deg tilt. It is only compatible at 0 deg or negative tilt.

 

Instructions:

- The original lens hood is attached to the lens by 3 screws at the front (hidden under the decorative ring plate)
- Therefore the original lens hood can be easily replaced with this kit

 

Included in the package

  • Replacement mount with rear cap and screwdriver
  • Replacement hood with a tool for removal
  • Lens foot and LRP35 lens plate. For the Canon EF-M version only: LF-3 lens foot and LRP35S lens plate (When the lens plate is installed at the left of lens mount, which is a recommended position for use on R1/10/20, lens release button is blocked. LRP35S lens plate with lens release lever is made to solve this issue.
  • Assorted tools for easy conversion
  • All included parts are supplied disassembled so you can use the kit in any way you want and/or use only a part of it

    use the line 1cm apart to read the NPP+1 if needed
  • R1 Setting for Samyang 7.5mm E mount converted:
    0 deg LRP value 1.7
    5 degrees LRP value 1.05
    7.5 degrees LRP value 0.8
  • R1 Setting for Samyang 7.5mm X mount converted: 
    0 deg LRP value 1.7
    5 degrees LRP value 1.05
  • R1 Setting for Samyang 7.5mm EF-M mount converted with LF-3 and LRP35S: 
    0 deg LRP value 1.7
    5 degrees LRP value 1.1
    7.5 degrees LRP value 0.85
  • R10 Setting for Samyang 7.5mm E mount converted:
    7.5 deg LRP value 0.35, use the line 1cm apart to read the value at 1.35
  • R10 Setting for Samyang 7.5mm X mount converted:
    7.5 deg LRP value 0.35, use the line 1cm apart to read the value at 1.35. Note that you will need the new QRC30 (item code F2010).
  • R10 Setting for Samyang 7.5mm EF-M mount converted with LF-3 and LRP35S:
    7.5 deg LRP value 0.4, use the line 1cm apart to read the value at 1.4.
