It is a spherical fisheye which captures the angle of view of 180 degrees on a full-frame cameras in a form of a circular image and on cameras with an APS-C sensor in the form of a cropped circle up to 180 degrees diagonally. To create a virtual tour, you only need 3-4 photos depending on the camera type and so you'll be done with your shooting in no time. The lens gives a measurable relationship between the angle and distance, making it ideal for scientific and technical applications for measurements. As a benefit for photographers it can be easily used in automatic stitching software such as ptGUI and Autopano. These programs are usually able to assemble a stitched 360-degree view automatically from the pictures taken by this lens.
