Nodal Ninja Nadir Adapter for taking the down shot from Nodal Ninja 3 MKII, 4 & 5
An easy to setup and use adapter for Nodal Ninja 3 MKII, 4 and 5 for taking a down shot usually covered by the tripod.
NOT COMPATIBLE WITH NN3 MK3!
Swivel mechanism has a 90 degrees detent lock interval.
The advantage of using this nadir adapter is a greater distance from the center of the tripod than the simple rotation of the panorama head's vertical leg.
How to use nadir adapter
First attach the nadir adaptr to lower end of vertical rail of your panorama head and then attach to lower rail using the standard vertical rail mounting knob. After you shoot your sequence of shots and ready to shoot the nadir (down shot) simply loosen the Nadir Adapter using locking lever and rotate the vertical rail 180 degrees then tighten. It is good to use a reference point on the ground as you will need to move the tripod assembly slightly so the lens is pointed directly over the original point of rotation. The Nadir Adapter is a must have for anyone shooting an unobstructed down shot, especially important if shooting HDR.
Compatible with: Nodal Ninja 3 MKII, Nodal Ninja 4 and the discontinued Nodal Ninja 5
Nadir adapters allow easy capture of the "nadir" in a spherical panorama which is a spot directly below the point of view usually obstructed by your tripod.
Nadir adapters are sophisticated but easy to use pieces of equipment with a turning mechanism that allows you to position your camera facing down along a side of your tripod. Then simply move your tripod slightly so the lens is pointed directly over the original point of view and you will have an unobstructed view of the nadir. This is much better than taking the down shot from a side because when you use a nadir adapter the reflections of the floor remain the same for the down shot. This is especially required when there is a complicated ground such as stairs or see-through glass, etc. On top of all that the nadir adapter allows you to take the down shot much quicker and it will also save time on a computer as the result will be easier to stitch.
